What is difference between Commercial Display & TV?
On the face of it
Commercial Displays may seem similar to Consumer TV. However, when it comes to operation, these differences are extremely stark. Commercial Displays are designed for long hours of continuous usage in business and public environments. The internal PCB’s are designed to work in uncontrolled spaces for up to 16 hours, 7 days a week. They are built for longer work life,
up to 60000 hours at a stretch. They have higher brightness, almost double that of consumer TV, so that visual is visible even in well-lit ambience. The response to Digital Signage software is very fast, especially video downloads. These displays can work effectively even in portrait orientation as well, unlike consumer TV.
How can we use a commercial display as a TV?
Commercial Display can double up as a TV with the use of a set-top box or media player, connected through HDMI cable. The Display comes with a remote so you can easily manage all the functions. In fact with the Digital Signage software you can split up the screen – use it partially for TV and partially for promotions. For e.g. in a waiting lobby at a hospital, TV can be played in one frame, another frame can announce queue number for patient. Although in terms of pricing Commercial display will be more expensive than a TV, because of its high durability and long life.
